Translation, Commentary & Explanation of Chapter 18 Al-Kahfi.
Literal Translation of Verse 4.
And to remind those who said, "God has taken a child".
Tafsir Jalaian.
And to remind to all the unbelievers and to those who said,"Allah has taken a son".
Tafsir Muhammad Asad.
Furthermore, this divine writ is meant to warn all those who assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son".

Literal Translation of Verse 5.
They do not have knowledge of that, and not even their ancestors. Terrible is this saying that comes out of their mouth. Verily they have spoken nothing but falsehood.
Commentary by Jalalain
They do not have real knowledge of what they are saying. And not even their ancestors had the real knowledge when they were saying the similar thing. It is a very great sinful words that comes out of their mouth. The word"kalimatan" gramatically referred to their claim in verse 4.
They have said nothing but falsehood.
Commentary by Muhammad Asad
They who said such falsehood do not really have the knowledge of God, and neither had their fore-fathers, since they attribute to the Supreme Being something that is only fit for the creations. According to Asad, this interpretation is supported by Imam Tabari and Baydawi.
Dreadful is this saying that comes out of their mouths, and nothing but falsehood do they utter.

ReplyDeleteBasically it refers to all kind of divinity given to other than God himself.
In the Holy Quran Chapter 112 God precisely mentions that God (HE) is ONE. He has no children and no parent. And nothing is like HIM.
Throughout history mankind has been deceived that God has children and parent.
The Arabs during Prophet Muhammad time believed that the angels wer the daughters of God, as such they were deceived to buried their new born baby alive, thniking that all daughters should be return to GOD.
During the time of Prophet Uzair, the people believed that he was a son of GOD as he was found asleep for about 100 years.
And During the time of Jesus, also people thought that he was a son of GOD.
That is why, Prophet Muhammad was sent to the world to correct the Truth that GOD is ONE. HE has no children and no parent.
Theologically speaking, GOD is an UNKNOWN.
